Hospice of the Sacred Heart recently received a grant for $2,000 from the Scranton Area Community Foundation to support the Lunch & Learn program.  The monthly series is a free information session accompanied by lunch and is held at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Center for Education in Moosic. The grant was funded in 2018.

Local non-profit organizations are invited to introduce their programs and services to a group of community members. Lunch is served before the program and a question and answer session follows each presentation. This is the second year Hospice of the Sacred Heart has made this program available to area non-profits.

“This is an excellent setting for local non-profit organizations to showcase their programs and services to a cross section of attentive community members. The information is free and so is lunch,” said Diane Baldi, CEO, Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

The 2019 Lunch & Learn schedule is as follows: May 1, Meals on Wheels of NEPA; June 5, Scranton Cultural Center; July 10, Catholic Social Services; Aug. 7, Serving Seniors; Sept. 4, Telespond Senior Services; Oct. 2, United Way; Nov. 6, Friendship House, and Dec. 4, Lackawac Sanctuary.

Previous session included the American Red Cross in January; Arc of NEPA in February; Scranton Tomorrow in March, and Goodwill Industries in April.

The mission of Hospice of the Sacred Heart is to provide comfort, care, hope and choice to patients and their families, while guiding them through their end of life journey.
