Good Turnout for UNICO Open House

UNICO open house #1

Dunmore’s Keystone UNICO conducted an open house at Arcaro and Genell recently was planned by membership director Mary Ann Coviello.

Guests, including Ann Summa, at left, and Cherie Mecca, were encouraged to tack the town or region their families came from on a large map of Italy.

President Nanine Gramigna gave an overview of all the recent and upcoming fundraising events and service projects scheduled, including the High School Chorus Competition, Pig Roast benefitting Dress for Success, and the Golf Tournament benefiting St. Mary’s Villa.

UNICO open house #3

Guest speaker for the UNICO open house was University of Scranton Athletic Director David Martin who spoke about the University’s athletic program and its service to the community.  

He also commended Keystone UNICO on their motto of “Service Above Self” and how everyone should always “leave things better than the way they find them.”

Local legend Frank Gervasi entertained the guests at the open house, and the evening’s finale was a tribute to our veterans with a sing-along of patriotic songs ending with “God Bless America.”
