The Lackawanna College Environmental Education Center is hiring four summer Camp Counselors to help teach nature-based day camps at the Lackawanna College Environmental Education Center (LCEEC) located at 93 MacKenzie Road, Covington Township, PA 18444.
LCEEC is looking for reliable individuals who have an interest working with children and a love for nature. The Camp Counselor position is a paid summer position that begins on June 14 and ends on July 20, 2018. Job responsibilities include leading camp activities, preparing for activities, and making sure campers are having fun in a safe atmosphere. Camp themes change weekly and campers ages range from five to 15 years old. The ideal candidate for the Camp Counselor position must have their high school diploma and should have some experience or coursework in either environmental science or education. All camps are held at LCEEC using the LEED Gold-Certified building and 211-acre property as a living-laboratory.
Junior Counselors are also needed, applicants must be 14 years of age or older. This is a volunteer position that fulfills most community service and senior project requirements. Junior Counselors assist Camp Counselors by making sure campers are having fun, staying safe, and can lead activities with approval.
