Jeanne Hugenbruch, center, manager of the Dunmore Senior Center, received the 2015 Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Nutrition for Older Pennsylvanians from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. This award recognizes those who work to improve nutrition programs within Pennsylvania’s aging network and are committed to strengthening the quality of life of older Pennsylvanians.
According to the PDA Nutrition Services Advisory Committee, “This includes Department of Aging funded nutrition service program meals such as congregate meals served in senior community centers or satellite centers and home delivered meals served to homebound consumers.”
Hugenbruch was recognized for her innovation in planning nutritionally balanced meals for older adults who utilize the Dunmore Senior Center.
