Dunmore Lion’s Club Sets June Celebration

The Dunmore Lion’s Club will hold it’s annual summer celebration on Saturday June 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Park in Dunmore.

Michael Hayes, President of the Dunmore Lion’s Club said they are very excited to have outside food vendor’s this year and that its open to the public.

“We will have vendor’s of all types selling their goods this year to the public,” said Hayes. “From Nardozzi’s Pizza to the Sweet Lush Cupcakery even Goodwill Industries will have clothing donation bins set up for that day. We really hope the community will come out to support the event.”

The Dunmore Lion’s Club often does work behind the scenes to help with those in need in the community, from donating wheelchairs and eye glasses to giving out Scholarships to students from Holy Cross and Dunmore Highschool.

“This is a great opportunity for people in our community to come out and learn about their local Lion’s Club, all while frequenting some of our supporting vendors from the area.”

The Dunmore Lion’s Club has also donated tasers to the Dunmore Police Department and infrared cameras to the Dunmore Fire Department. Along with supporting White Cane, the Club’s mission is to continue to help those in need in the community, especially those who are hard of seeing and hearing.

“We are still accepting vendors for the event,” said Hayes. “The $100 donation goes to the clubs operating costs and all vendor sale proceeds go straight to the vendors to keep.”
