The Dunmore 8U (ages 8 and under) all-star team captured tournament titles in both Dickson City and Dunmore this past summer.
The girls finished the season 13-3 and won both the Dickson City and Dunmore city tournaments.
Tom Richardson is the coach of the Dunmore champion 8U team.
Assistant coaches are Chris Rinaldi, Cassie Rinaldi, Ed O’Malley and Ryan McGowen.
Team players include Claire Ehnot, Kelly Ehnot, Mia Davis, Frankie Nails, Skylar Rinaldi, Abby Richardson, Molly O’Malley, Lucy Gallagher, Rachel McKenna, Tilly Zayac, Maddie McGowen and Maddie Coleman.
The 8U girls team won the Dunmore Miss E League championship. Skylar Rinaldi had three consecutive walk off singles in games. Her final walk off single led Dunmore to a 16-15 championship win against Tripps Park.
Frankie Nails was the team MVP. She led the Dunmore 8U team with five doubles.
The defensive of the team contributed to many wins. Lucy Gallagher, Mia Davis, Maddie Coleman, and Molly O’Malley were among a group of young kids who demonstrated strong defensive skills.
The Dunmore 8U team finished 3-0 in capturing the Dickson City tournament.
Kelly and Claire Ehnot led Dunmore on offense and defense.
Rachel McKenna was the winning pitcher in those games. She was excellent all season as the team’s top pitcher.
The final game came right down to the wire with Abby Richardson hitting a walk off single to win the championship contest for Dunmore over Abington, 13-12.
“For me, this season brought so much joy not only to me but my entire family,” said assistant coach Chris Rinaldi. “All of the kids and their families enjoyed it so much,
“It was the tremendous way we played as a team.
“It showed and we all became one.
“Coach Tom Richardson and coaches Cassie Rinaldi, Ed O’Malley and Ryan McGowen did a wonderful job with these young girls.
‘The whole team came together as one unit and we had a lot of fun. They deserve the recognition.”
